The majority often loses even when they win.
For example, in Numbers 13:17-22, the ten-to-two majority decided they were grasshoppers. They won the decision but lost the Promised Land. See Grasshopper Faith.
On rare occasions, the majority wins even when they lose.
For example, in 1 Samuel 17, a whole army doubted a single shepherd boy who won the battle for them. See Don't Listen to Doubters.
Majorities aren't always wrong and minorities aren't always right. It depends on Who they side with.
We face some powerfully wrong majorities in our world today. They are telling us that people are created androgynous, ungodly lifestyles are healthy, personal happiness is our highest goal, and unborn life is worthless. They believe the Bible is irrelevant and holiness is old-fashioned. They believe it's loving to honor sin and hateful to oppose it or even explain it!(1)
Dear Christians, let's take our cues from Joshua, Caleb, and the shepherd boy David and never forget this wonderful truth:
"They will wage war against the Lamb, but the Lamb will triumph over them because he is Lord of lords and King of kings--and with him will be his called, chosen and faithful followers." Revelation 17:14

(1) Feb. 2021: The Daily Citizen, a ministry of Focus on the Family, was locked out of Twitter for describing Dr. Levine, Biden's newly appointed Asst. Health and Human Services Secretary, as “a transgender woman, that is, a man who believes he is a woman” (source). Twitter informed them that this was "hateful conduct," and when the Daily Citizen appealed, asking how to acceptably describe Dr. Levine, Twitter rejected their appeal without offering an approved description. See What the Bible Teaches About Transgender and A Letter from a Reader. We are facing difficult times, and Christians must be shrewd, but innocent (Matthew 10:16). No matter the majority, we must remember we are "His called, chosen and faithful followers."
Bible Love Notes
Amen hallelujah 🙏 It’s such a Holy Spirit moment to see your piece today because earlier I saw an image that said “God is greater than the giants you face”. It made me think of David and Goliath and how our faithful and good God who has saved us before, will save us again, praise the Lord 🙏 in particular, I thought of 1 Samuel 17:37, 45, 47: “David continued: “The same LORD who delivered me from the claws of the lion and the bear will deliver me from the hand of this Philistine.” Saul answered David, “Go! the LORD will be with you.”
ReplyDeleteDavid answered him: “You come against me with sword and spear and scimitar, but I come against you in the name of the LORD of hosts, the God of the armies of Israel whom you have insulted.
All this multitude, too, shall learn that it is not by sword or spear that the LORD saves. For the battle belongs to the LORD, who shall deliver you into our hands.””
Very reassuring to get this confirmation, praise God🙏
I'm so glad this was helpful and thanks for sharing your insights as well.
