Are you facing increased opposition when you share Christ accurately in your workplace, neighborhood, or church? We need to read the Book of Jude which challenges us to "contend for the faith."
I'm seeing increased name-calling, anger, and resistance when people share Biblical truths (especially when they talk about morality, accurate views of God, discernment, or Christian responsibility).
And a good portion of the resistance comes from professing Christians misusing the “Judge not” argument.
God expects us to warn people of error even if they don’t listen (Ezekiel 33:1-20). He’s “nit-picky” about His Word (Matthew 5:18).
But just like the Old Testament prophet Jeremiah we can be hurt by the insults from the people we’re trying to help (Jeremiah 20:8-9).
So today, I want to give a shout out to those of you who are contending for the faith, teaching Christian responsibility, standing for God’s morals against a growing wave of compromise (Jude 1:3).
Never forget: “Great is your reward in heaven” (Matthew 5:10-12).

Hi Gail, great encouragement here. It is getting tougher out there and people are getting more "in your face" about their feelings (or maybe their guilt?). Yes, we must keep on keeping on for Christ

ReplyDeleteThank you Gail for sharing this. I recognized this a couple of months ago.
ReplyDeleteI was praying for it quiet a long time. God is answering through your post now.
I bless you in Jesus Name.
It hurts when you try to warn (with love) especially those close to you as your sins get thrown in your face when you try and help
ReplyDeleteDepends on what you define as sin .If someone is abusing drugs or alcohol for instance that's correct. But someone who is homosexual or decides they want to reject Christianity? Then I would say follow your heart on this

Christiana,
DeleteGenuine Christians believe the Bible so we follow God's heart, not our own.
That's because our hearts are easily influenced by selfish and destructive desires, but God's heart is pure and perfect. He created us and He knows what is healthy and wise.
And your example is a good one. Embracing sexual lifestyles damages a person's heart and soul because it's a rejection of our Creator's design and commands. Christians are called to follow God's heart and warn people involved in such lifestyles to turn to God and save themselves from Hell.
But it's clear from your comment that you are following your heart deciding drug abuse is sinful but rejecting Christianity is not sinful.
I pray for your soul because God's heart tells me to warn you that you will spend an eternity in Hell if you don't give your heart to Him.
There is nothing loving or kind or right about encouraging people to reject God and spend an eternity in Hell. I don't want that for drug abusers, alcoholics, homosexuals, or for you.
