Ambiverts

Do you know what an "ambivert" is? You should know because you probably are one! This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Devotions

Ambiverts are people who fall between the categories of introvert and extrovert. Studies show that they actually have better sales and leadership skills than more dominant personalities.

And that's encouraging because the majority of us are ambiverts.

One researcher said, "The good news, then, is that in some sense we are all born to sell and equipped to lead. And that means a hidden but urgent challenge for organizations of every kind to shatter the stereotype of who’s an effective leader."

In the body of Christ, we sometimes create "celebrities" of those who have more visible talents, but God uses behind-the-scene Christians in powerful ways.

"For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live]." Ephesians 2:10, Amplified Bible

God has purposes for every personality type.

If you ever wish you were more well-known, more popular, or more in the public eye, give it up! Instead, let God use you just as you are. He has important things for you to do.

  1. Gail, you make such a good point here. I had never heard of "ambiverts." Great post!

  2. I have never heard of the word ambivert before!

Type A dynamic, visionary pastors interview very well, because they're enthusiastic and excited and can communicate their excitement, so they can come across more strongly than a type B personality, however a type A can often have more problems shepherding, communicating and working with the people as they are so vision led.

But I agree, we have to accept ourselves as we are and let the Lord use us. After all, He made us and gifted us!

Thanks so much for linking up to the "Making Your Home Sing" linky party today! :)

  3. I used to feel badly that I could never find my place on personality tests, spiritual gift inventories, and the like. I'm always somewhere right in the middle! A few years ago I learned of this term "Ambivert" and was much comforted! I'm not without a personality! I'm well-rounded! LOL!!!

    Thanks so much!

  4. Well, I now know what I am. I've always described myself as an Introverted Extrovert or vice-versa. And yes, I was Berean-like and looked the term up :) Ronn
