As a new believer, I memorized Psalm 100. (I learned it as a song - an excellent way to memorize.)
Verse one is translated in the KJV and ESV as "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord."
Sometimes people joke about the fact that not all of us are great singers, but at least we can make a joyful noise.
There's truth in that joke because God isn't as interested in how we sing out loud as how we sing inside.
If we are going to "bring good things out of good stored up inside of us" (Matthew 12:35), we need to have good inside.
3 Ways we can "make a joyful noise":
1. Dwelling on God's Word, reciting and singing Psalms, hymns and spiritual songs (Colossians 3:16).
2. Thinking about our blessings and the good things in our lives (Philippians 4:8).
3. Refusing to think ungodly thoughts (2 Corinthians 10:5).
Let's not let a day go by without "making a joyful noise unto the Lord" inside and out loud.
