If I wanted to increase my subscriber base and be more popular in the blogging world, I wouldn't have written this series about Talarico's lies about the Bible. But as Paul explained, “If pleasing people were my goal, I would not be Christ’s servant” (Galatians 1:10).
“This idea that there is a set Christian orthodoxy on the issue of ab..tion is just not rooted in scripture.” James Talarico
Talarico claims that life doesn't begin until a human being takes their first breath because Adam didn’t come alive until God breathed life into him.
In addition, he claims “in context of ab..tion...God asks for Mary's consent” to carry the Savior. Therefore, Talarico concludes that if a woman doesn't want to carry her child, she can kill it with God's approval.
When asked about late term procedures, he claims they are “almost exclusively to save the life of the mother.”
This is typical propaganda, citing irrelevant details out of context while ignoring major facts.
So let's address each specific lie:
1. The Bible couldn't be clearer about the beginning of life.
Adam and Eve were the only people created outside a womb. Using Talarico's logic, we could claim that all woman must be created from a man's rib. And claiming the Christian view of unborn life isn't “rooted in scripture” shows a lack of Bible knowledge or purposeful deception.
What Scripture Says about the Unborn offers 6 Scriptures showing life begins at conception.
2. Read Luke 1:26-38.
Mary wasn't asked for approval, she simply affirmed her willingness to fulfill God's plan. And since Mary wasn't pregnant yet, Talarico's use of this story is irrational.
3. Reasons for late-term procedures.
“The American Medical Association has reported that a late term ab..tion is generally not necessary to save the life of the mother.” (source)
Proverbs 24:10-12 offers a strong warning to those who refuse to speak against the slaughter of the innocent. Let's refute these lies-in-disguise!

Using Mary as an example for this lie is especially offensive when we realize the great sacrifices she made. See Mary Was Promised Soul-Piercing Pain & Incredible Joy. And for more encouragement see Jesus Isn't Looking for Silent Partners.
