When the Israelites miraculously crossed the Jordan River, they set up stones to remember God's faithfulness.
Joshua said, "We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future, your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Then you can tell them.” Joshua 4:1-7
We can also create "stones of remembrance” symbolizing God's faithfulness in our lives by writing down special "God events."
We all have "God stories" about times He brought us through difficulties, taught us special lessons, encouraged us, or healed us. Those stories are worth recounting.
It's especially important to pass our "God stories" along to our children and grandchildren.

Remembering God's faithfulness glorifies God, maintains our legacy for the next generation, and encourages us to persevere when we face new difficulties (Psalm 78:1-8; Philippians 4:8).
"Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits." Psalm 103:2

ReplyDeleteLove this Gail. It's so important to record and remember what God has done for you. I've had the privilege of writing a number of books about how God has transformed people's lives and I'm about to do the same for my church, we don't want any of these local stories to be lost. I'll look st the other links with interest, thanks
