As we start the new year, let’s prepare our hearts and minds for the increasing challenges to our faith.
1. Let’s commit to be like the Bereans who carefully checked all teachings against God’s Word (Acts 17:11-12).
2. Let’s commit to be like Paul, pressing on to take hold of everything God has for us (Philippians 3:12-14).
3. Let’s commit to speak up about those popular sins which damage people’s souls (Ephesians 5:11).
4. Let’s commit to speak up for unborn children (Psalm 82:3-4).
5. Let's commit to fellowship that will spur us on to greater maturity (Hebrews 10:24-25).
6. Let's commit to enjoying God's creation (Revelation 4:11).
7. Let's commit to renewing and restoring our souls through times of praise and thanksgiving (Hebrews 13:15).
Take time today to consider how you might build up your faith this year. We should always be growing in our faith, no matter our age or stage of life! If you want some ideas, check out the short devotions below:
You might also want to take ten days and read one of these one-minute devotions each day: 9 Disciplines that Help Us Mature in Christ. (Why ten days? There is also an intro.)
