Update: Scene in question: drag queens standing behind a long dining table with a lesbian at the center wearing a halo. Thousands (millions?) quite understandably saw this as a mockery of Christ's Last Supper. The following day the director of the opening ceremony claimed the scene wasn't inspired by the Last Supper. But previous statements proved he was lying.(Source, Source) Watch this informative video: Crowley's Satanic Replacement of Christ With Dionysus.
God understands our challenges and promises to be with us:
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” Isaiah 41:10
When we feel inadequate, we can rely on God’s Spirit:
“For the Spirit God gave us does not make us timid, but gives us power, love and self-discipline.” 2 Timothy 1:7
When we feel alone in our struggle, we can remember the Old Testament saints and this promise God gave them as they faced new challenges:
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” Joshua 1:9
And let's never forget to pray and seek God:
“Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus.” Philippians 4:6-7
Instead of simply reading these verses, let's memorize them and recite them when we face new challenges!
