Today's post is an "extra" Saturday post. It's not the typical Bible Love Notes one-minute devotion. It will take you four to five minutes to read, and I hope it will prompt you to pray. It's one of several subjects that God has laid on my heart, and I feel like Jeremiah felt in Jeremiah 20:8-9. See Like a Fire for more on that verse.
I avoid addressing issues on Bible Love Notes that are strictly political. But I'm compelled to speak up for biblical values even when they are interrelated to politics. That's why I frequently address abortion. It's a moral issue, and Scripture strongly warns us to speak up it (Proverbs 24:11-12; Proverbs 31:8-9).
A holiday that mocks God's creation design
Today let's discuss something both political and biblical: the March 31st Transgender Day of Visibility.
TDOV has been celebrated since 2009, and in 2024, President Biden issued an official proclamation affirming it. It's no coincidence that March 31st fell on Easter that year. I'm sure Satan was smiling to see God mocked on a day celebrating Christ's resurrection.
The U.S. proclamation suggested that anyone who fails to affirm trans lifestyles is guilty of abuse against trans people.
The claim that disapproval of transgender lifestyles causes suicides and depression is unsubstantiated. Please see Don't Fall for Suicide Propaganda to read more about this tactic.
Protecting those without adult reasoning skills
Legally, adults have complete freedom to choose surgeries and drugs that alter their gender. Biblically, we know that this is harmful to their hearts and souls, and we should be unashamed to share God's loving commands.
But the White House Fact Sheet for Transgender Day in 2023 wasn't about adults. It focused on children. They were demanding that we trust a child's undeveloped reasoning skills, giving them the right to choose their gender when they're too young to decide their bedtime.
Instead of praising people who propose and institute laws that protect minor children from life-altering drugs and surgeries, the presidential statement called any limitation "callous government overreach that threatens families."
Evidence does not support government claims
In order to advance their agenda, pro-trans advocates ignore the increasing evidence that many children will change their minds about transgender choices as they mature (source). In addition, the drugs given to these children have proven to cause bone loss, leaving some of them with lifelong skeletal problems in addition to permanently preventing normal sexual function (source). And surgeries performed on these children permanently remove healthy body parts.
Other countries have promoted these medical treatments long before the U.S., and here are a few of their findings:
"Finland, citing concerns about side effects, in 2020 cut back puberty blockers and cross-sex hormones to minors. Sweden followed suit in 2022 and Norway this year [2023]. Britain’s National Health Service shuttered the country’s largest youth gender clinic after 35 clinicians resigned over three years, complaining they were pressured to overdiagnose gay, mentally ill, and autistic teens and prescribe medications that made their conditions worse." (source)
"The conclusions of the systematic reviews of evidence for adolescents are consistent with long-term adult studies, which failed to show credible improvements in mental health and suggested a pattern of treatment-associated harms." (source)
2024 highlighted the mockery of this holiday
Transgender Day doesn't protect children. It promotes and celebrates child abuse and mocks God's loving design.
In 2024, President Biden issued a 94-word Easter message and a 639-word Proclamation on Transgender Day. His transgender proclamation included remarks such as this:
"Extremists are proposing hundreds of hateful laws that target and terrify transgender kids and their families — silencing teachers; banning books; and even threatening parents, doctors, and nurses with prison for helping parents get care for their children."
Please notice that propaganda creates fear and misrepresents opposing views with words like extremists, hateful, terrify, silencing, and threatening.
If you want to translate this from the language of propaganda into the language of truth: The current administration opposes laws
that protect immature children and teenagers from
making life-altering decisions before they have adult reasoning skills.
This mockery breaks my heart, and if you know Christ, it should break yours as well. Please take some time today to pray about this mockery that is mutilating and misleading so many children around the world.
Galatians 6:7: "Do not be deceived: God cannot be mocked. A man reaps what he sows."
And consider this prayer of the early disciples when Christianity was mocked in their time:
Acts 4:25-26, 29: "You spoke by the Holy Spirit through the mouth of your servant, our father David: 'Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain? The kings of the earth rise up and the rulers band together against the Lord and against his anointed one.'…Now, Lord, consider their threats and enable your servants to speak your word with great boldness."

March 31st was always Transgender Day. Easter fell on Transgender Day. We are to pray for transgender people, love them, but hate the sin.
ReplyDeleteThe lies and hypocrisy of politics. That is why I am non-partisan. Don't bring politics into this. Heaven and Earth shall pass away, but God's Word shall stand forever.
Hi Be-an-encourager,
DeleteDid you read this part of the article:
"Even though TDOV has been celebrated since 2009, Biden is the only president who has issued a proclamation about it. And the fact that it fell on Easter this year further highlighted its mockery of God."
This year the mockery was highlighted by the day it fell on, but I never said that was the reason the holiday is ungodly. It's ungodly whatever day it's celebrated.
Secondly, nowhere in this article do I say anything hateful about transgender people. Quite the opposite. I love them enough to warn them of the damage they are doing to their hearts, souls, and bodies. If I remained silent while they violate God's commands and separate themselves from God, that would be hateful.
Thirdly, LGBTQ lifestyles are issues of biblical morality. Whether or not they are reflected in the goals of a certain political party doesn't change that. If they were put forth by a Republican President, I would have written about them in exactly the same way.
I admit I'm partisan but I'm not talking about politics. I'm going to side with God when it comes to issues of morality no matter what political party mocks Him.
Jesus make it perfectly clear:
“Anyone who isn’t with me opposes me, and anyone who isn’t working with me is actually working against me.” ~ Matthew 12:30
Amen, Gail.
