My husband and I have moved over twenty times during our married life, first during his military career and afterward for ministry purposes. And God has always been our guide.
The Christian life is wonderful, but it's not always easy or predictable.
Sometimes I am calm and confident. Sometimes I’ve felt like I was jumping out of a plane without a parachute.
But I’ve always had something better than a parachute:
“Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand” (Isaiah 41:10).
“He will cover you with his feathers, and under his wings you will find refuge; his faithfulness will be your shield and rampart” (Psalm 91:4).
Sometimes I’ve felt fearful and anxious, but then I remember Who He is:
“The
LORD is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The LORD is the
stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” (Psalm 27:1).
And I remember His promise:
“Give all your worries and cares to God, for he cares about you” (1 Peter 5:7).
My husband and I are currently making some important decisions, and I wrote this devotion to remind myself of God’s faithfulness.
I hope it encourages you as well.
