Each Wednesday in January our devotions address important aspects of this subject. Our prayer is that our readers will have the courage to speak God's truth with confidence.
✔ Death penalty: Only 24 states currently allow the death penalty for convicted murderers, and only after clear evidence is given to prove their guilt. The other 26 states think the death penalty for criminals is inhumane.
But 26 states support the death penalty for unborn babies for any and every reason. No trial is necessary. Women are encouraged (and sometimes pressured) to kill their children for any number of unnecessary reasons.(1) See Manipulative Ideologies.
✔ Shameful history: For 49 years under the ruling of Roe vs. Wade, the U.S. forced every state to allow the killing of unborn children for any reason. But the federal courts didn't/don't require that serial killers are given the death penalty, no matter how many innocent people they torture or kill.
✔ Pro-Choice: The unborn child has no voice and no choice. Under Roe v. Wade, the states and the voters had no voice and no choice. If
we believe it's "pro-choice" for our government to allow parents to kill unwanted children, then genocide is "pro-choice." In fact, it's "pro-choice" to allow serial killers to choose their victims.
✔ We cannot believe God's Word and justify abortion:
Psalm 139:13-16: "For you created my inmost being; you knit me together in my mother’s womb...Your eyes saw my unformed body; all the days ordained for me were written in your book before one of them came to be."
Note: If you have had an abortion that you regret, you are also a victim of the pro-abortion movement. I encourage you to seek godly counsel from Christians trained in post-abortion syndrome. You will find such people in pro-life organizations because pro-life organizations care about both the mother and the baby.
