Psalm 119 is the longest chapter in the Bible, filled with wonderful truths. Let me focus on three powerful verses we all should memorize.
Verse 89: “Your word, LORD, is eternal; it stands firm in the heavens.”
Cultural values change constantly, but God’s moral commands and principles stand firm. They're relevant in every age in history, in every location around the globe. Only God could offer wisdom that universal and permanent.
Verse 90: “Your faithfulness continues through all generations; you established the earth, and it endures.”
This verse builds on the eternal nature of God’s character. Hebrews 13:8 confirms this truth: “Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” When the world rejects God's established design for gender, marriage, and sexual intimacy they simply prove that “the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God's sight”(1 Corinthians 3:19).
Verse 91: “Your laws endure to this day, for all things serve you.”
He is God and we are not. As Romans 9:20 says, “Who are you, a human being, to talk back to God? “Shall what is formed say to the one who formed it, ‘Why did you make me like this?’”
We can redefine, reinterpret, make exceptions, and disobey. But God’s Word, His faithfulness, His design, and His judgments stand firm.
