Please Think Before Saying "A Good God Would Destroy All Evil"

Before claiming that a "good" God would destroy all evil, please consider these important truths.

Sometimes people hear about an act of human wickedness, and they decide God isn't good. They think a good God should destroy everything sinful, not realizing we'd all be on that list (Romans 3:23).

We can't compare human wisdom to God's perfect wisdom.

As for God, his way is perfect: The LORD’s word is flawless.Psalm 18:30

We can't compare finite human knowledge to God's infinite knowledge.

Great is our Lord and mighty in power; his understanding has no limit.Psalm 147:5

We can't compare our character to God's.

I am the LORD, who exercises kindness, justice and righteousness on earth, for in these I delight,” declares the LORD. Jeremiah 9:24

God knows every thought, sin, and circumstance, no matter how small. Nothing escapes His notice. He never misunderstands anything. He judges perfectly and impartially (Deuteronomy 10:17).

Perhaps a good God would destroy all evil and we'd all end up in Hell without a hope. But we don't simply have a good God.

Our God is not only perfectly holy and just, He's also perfectly sacrificial, forgiving, patient, and loving (Psalm 103; John 3:16; John 6:40; 1 John 4:10).
