How Ease and Privilege Ruined A King

Sometimes we think our faith would be stronger if our lives were easier, but Solomon disproves that idea. 3 Things were his undoing. #BibleLoveNotes #Biblestudy #Bible

People sometimes think faith would be easy if everything in their lives went smoothly. But faith is not built on ease of life.

There’s no better example than King Solomon. He had everything, and God had personally praised him for his choices early in his life. But in his later years, he turned away from God for the love of pagan women, pagan gods, and Egyptian horses!(1)

His example warns us to guard our hearts against anything that might decrease our devotion to God.

Proverbs 4:23: Above all else, guard your heart, for everything you do flows from it.

Solomon proved that it’s not how much we have that matters. It’s how we use what we have that counts (Colossians 3:23). It's not simply how we start our race, it's how we finish it (Acts 20:23-24).

On Judgment Day there will be great reward heaped on unknown men and women who gave their best to God (2 Corinthians 5:10).

Dear Lord, help us use the circumstances You have given us fully and faithfully.
