No Regrets

Gal. 6:10 is the key to living in such a way that we have no regrets when we stand before Christ. This 1-minute devotion explains.

When East and West Germany were divided, a German friend regularly sent packages to her relatives in Communist East Germany where life was hard and consumer goods were scarce.

She anticipated the future: "One day they'll be free, and when I see them, I want them to remember I cared."

It's easy to forget about those in need when we are comfortable and well-fed, but showing concern for others is an important aspect of our faith (Matthew 25:31-46; James 2:12-26).

Our brothers and sisters in Christ are suffering in many countries. Some are denied Bibles, jobs, and housing. Some are imprisoned, beaten, and killed.

In 1989, my German friend's relatives were freed and she had no reason for regret. They remembered her kindness.

One day, we each will stand before Christ (Matthew 12:36; 2 Corinthians 5:10). Will we stand there without regret, knowing we remembered those in need, not only those in our location, but especially our persecuted brothers and sisters in Christ (Galatians 6:10)?
