Better Than Morning Coffee...Really!

quiet time, coffee, Bible reading
"Due to its worldwide popularity, coffee is probably the greatest source of antioxidants in the global diet. ... it may just be the superfood of the century."

According to numerous studies coffee:
1. Lowers risk of death.
2. Helps prevent some cancers.
3. Lowers susceptibility to type 2 diabetes.
4. Helps protect the brain from dementia.
5. Stimulates DNA molecules in muscles with effects similar to exercise.

I was thinking about the pleasure a cup of coffee brings and the pleasure the Bible brings. So after reading these benefits of coffee, I compared some benefits of the Bible. It:

1. Lowers our risk of eternal death (Romans 1:16).
2. Helps prevent "spiritual cancers" like bitterness (2 Timothy 3:16-17*)
3. Regulates our spiritual "blood" preventing unhealthy highs and lows (*).
4. Protects and renews our minds (Romans 12:2).
5. Stimulates spiritual DNA, exercising and building faith (Romans 10:17)

Yep! The Bible is better than my morning cuppa joe!

  5. This is so true, there has been times when I did not sleep due to just staying up reading my Bible. And not needing to take a nap, amazing with God's word can do for us. No coffee has every given me the energy that could compare. And you just can't beat knowledge of scripture.
    Thank you for sharing.
    God bless,
