"Grammy, why do peaches have fur?"
As soon as we start talking, we start asking, "Why?"
Before I accepted Christ, I had lots of "whys":
- “Why do innocent people suffer?”
- “Why do evil people prosper?”
- “What happens to someone who never hears the Gospel?”
I’m still learning how to do it…learning that we Christians “don’t live by explanations, we live by promises.” *
“Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see” (Hebrews 11:1).
I don't have answers to all my questions, but I serve a God Who has every answer and He tells me to trust Him.
*Warren W. Wiersbe, From Worry to Worship, p.14
BTW: According to what I've read, peach fuzz keeps the peach from bruising as easily as the nectarine (which has no fuzz) and it helps prevent bugs from eating it....I guess they don't like being tickled.
This devotion addresses some of the questions I had before accepting Christ: Are There Many Ways to Heaven?

Love this Gail! Thanks for the encouragement to just believe in God's promises and faithfulness. I make it harder for myself than He does some times.
ReplyDeleteHi Gail - such great truth here. We may never know the whys but we know the Lord and that needs to be enough. Great post
ReplyDeleteGod bless
Tracy

Love that quote by Warren Wiersbe. ...That peach caught my eye from Faith Filled Friday!
ReplyDeleteLove the title! It brought me by.
ReplyDeletewell? why do they?
ReplyDeleteI guess I should footnote that question. According to what I've read, peach fuzz keeps the peach from bruising as easily as the nectarine (which has no fuzz) and it helps prevent bugs from eating it....I guess they don't like being tickled : )
DeleteI love this!
ReplyDeleteTis so sweet to trust in Jesus,
ReplyDeleteJust to take Him at His Word;
Just to rest upon His promise,
And to know, “Thus saith the Lord!”
Refrain:
Jesus, Jesus, how I trust Him!
How I’ve proved Him o’er and o’er;
Jesus, Jesus, precious Jesus!
Oh, for grace to trust Him more!
Oh, how sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just to trust His cleansing blood;
And in simple faith to plunge me
’Neath the healing, cleansing flood!
Yes, ’tis sweet to trust in Jesus,
Just from sin and self to cease;
Just from Jesus simply taking
Life and rest, and joy and peace.
I’m so glad I learned to trust Thee,
Precious Jesus, Savior, Friend;
And I know that Thou art with me,
Wilt be with me to the end.
Peach fuzz!!!! God has reason (or plan)for everything! We need to trust in our Heavenly Father! Great post, they always make me stop the busyness around me and THINK on these thing,His truths and promises. Thanks Gail
