Validity

God's Word is unchanging and reliable
"The trouble with quotes on the internet is you can’t check their validity"        Abraham Lincoln

I saw this quote on Pinterest…so funny…but so true. We’re bombarded by so many “facts” in our Information Age, but how many are accurate?

I’ve had friends send me panicked emails about terrible political or religious situations only to find out they were operating on misinformation. And some of these scams are started for the explicit purpose of making Christians look foolish. But we do a pretty good job of that on our own at times.

We buy into the feel-good philosophies of our culture that tell us life is about us, our self-esteem, our pleasure, and our rights. And we forget the boatload of Scripture verses that tell us just the opposite.

But here’s a quote we can fully trust and validate:
“the words of the LORD are flawless,
like silver purified in a crucible,
like gold refined seven times.”
God*

*Validate it here: Psalm 12:6, NIV
Lincoln image public domain, Wikipedia source, call out added by me...Lincoln didn't really say that ...well, at least I didn't hear him say it : )
