The Lord should be our delight because everything about Him is perfect, fair, holy, and right. But did you know that He also delights in things about us. Imagine that…giving the Creator of the universe delight!
Psalm 147:10-11 says, “The Lord delights in those who fear him, who put their hope in his unfailing love.”
What does it mean to “fear” God? It means fully trusting His character, knowing that everything He does is righteous, pure, and loving.
Do you trust the Lord?
Psalm 37:23-24 says, “The Lord makes firm the steps of the one who delights in him; though he may stumble, he will not fall, for the Lord upholds him with his hand.”
Another way we bring God delight is by showing true delight in Him. We do this through praise and thanksgiving and by making Him our priority.
Do you delight in the Lord?
Proverbs 12:22 says, “The Lord detests lying lips, but he delights in people who are trustworthy.” And Proverbs 11:20 says, “The Lord detests those whose hearts are perverse, but he delights in those whose ways are blameless.
Those with perverse hearts and lying lips contradict the nature and character of God, hurting themselves and others, and dishonoring God.
Are you careful to be honest and godly in big and little ways?
Let’s seek to bring our Lord delight by fully trusting Him, offering Him praise, and being honest and trustworthy as we live out our faith.
