Be Prepared: Understand Why Christians Are Never a Majority

As Christians prepare for increasing persecution, we must remember this important truth about the majority.

As we prepare our hearts for increasing persecution, let's remember:

➤ The majority of the world will reject Christ.

“Wide is the gate and broad is the road that leads to destruction, and many enter through it. But small is the gate and narrow the road that leads to life, and only a few find it” (Matthew 7:13-14).

➤ The majority of the world is under Satan's control.

“We know that we are children of God, and that the whole world is under the control of the evil one” (1 John 5:19).

➤ The majority of the world will reject truth.

Throughout history, the majority of people have rejected God's truth. This was true in Old Testament times (Jeremiah 25:1-7), and it's been true from the time of Jesus to the present:

“If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as its own. As it is, you do not belong to the world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you. Remember what I told you: ‘A servant is not greater than his master.’ If they persecuted me, they will persecute you also. If they obeyed my teaching, they will obey yours also.… This is to fulfill what is written in their Law: ‘They hated me without reason’” (Jesus, John 15:18-25).

God's moral truths are mocked by the majority, and many former church and family members have joined the majority. But remnant Christians can and will stand firm.
