Paul Gives Us a Challenge: Are You Ashamed of the Gospel?

The way Paul introduces this passage is a call to action for all of us. And it's extremely relevant.

We live in challenging times:

The unsaved world is shaming Christians for believing what God teaches (John 15:18-19). And some professing Christians are falling away because they honor culture more than God (Acts 20:30; 1 John 2:19).

Romans 1:16-32 is an important passage of Scripture for all times in history. But it's especially relevant today as the unsaved world celebrates sins that break God's heart.

It’s no coincidence that the Spirit inspired Paul to start this passage by proclaiming he is not ashamed of the gospel.(1)

“For I am not ashamed of the gospel, because it is the power of God that brings salvation to everyone who believes...” Romans 1:16

The lines are being drawn. Those who are ashamed of the gospel are leaving the church and joining other Wilderness Wanderers who want to fit in with culture.

I'm not going to join them. Like Paul, I'm not ashamed of the gospel. I know it is the power of God, and I'm going to keep believing, trusting, and sharing God's Word.

How about you?
