"Dead" People Have a Different Perspective

When we die to self, we gain an entirely new perspective about life and about death. This 1-minute devotion explains. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

Dying to self and living for Christ means having a different perspective about life’s problems and pleasures.

This perspective is described in Hebrews 11:13-16:

“All these people were still living by faith when they died. They did not receive the things promised; they only saw them and welcomed them from a distance, admitting that they were foreigners and strangers on earth. People who say such things show that they are looking for a country of their own…they were longing for a better country—a heavenly one. Therefore God is not ashamed to be called their God…”

When we die to self, we realize this earthly life is temporary (Galatians 6:14).

Earthly difficulties - health, finances, relationships, etc. – don’t get us down because our Lord told us to expect troubles here on earth (John 16:33).

Nor are we depending on worldly pleasures to give us satisfaction because we find our satisfaction in the Lord (1 John 2:15-17).

Because we've died to ourselves and are living for Christ, we no longer fear death because we know eternity will be far better than anything here on earth.

“Living means living for Christ, and dying is even better.” Philippians 1:21
