A Little Bit of Knowledge Can Be a Dangerous Thing

4 Ways Christians Mishandle Scripture - a little bit of knowledge can be a dangerous thing. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Biblestudy

Proverbs says the fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom, not the end.

There's danger in a "little bit of knowledge," especially for the Christian.

It can lead to these errors:

1. Wrong Definitions
Words matter and we need to correctly define them, whether we are using the word "unconditional" to describe God's love or talking about good and bad fear. (See God's Love is Better than Unconditional and Does Love Cast Out Fear?)

2. Wrong Timing
Timing matters and we can't apply heavenly promises to our time here on earth. Christ defeated sin, sickness, death and Satan on the cross, but we won't fully realize His victory until heaven. (See He's a Better God than I First Realized, When Your Problems Seem Overwhelming, and Misunderstandings About the Stripes of Jesus.)

3. Wrong Perspective
Perspective matters and we can't understand God's character by reading only part of the Old Testament narratives or by pulling passages out of context. (See Don't Be Ashamed of God and God's Incredible Patience.)

4. Partial Research
Accuracy matters and we can't gain a full understanding of Biblical concepts based on a few Scriptures. (See Pieces Parts and Understanding Prayer in Context.)

Let's be lifelong students of Scripture so we can avoid these errors and become truly wise!
