Do You Value What God Values?

This 1-minute devotion looks at some interesting financial investments and shares an important Spiritual truth. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

When I was a little girl in the early 60's, I bought a Barbie doll for about $3. I was careful with my toys, so it was in great condition when I sold it in the 1990’s for $500. Pretty good investment for a child under 10 years old.

It’s amazing how much people pay for rare and popular items.

Mark McWire’s 70th home-run baseball sold for over $3 million.

Judy Garland’s ruby slippers from the 1939 Wizard of Oz movie sold for 93,000 pounds.

Darth Vader’s helmet from The Empire Strikes Back sold for $115,000.

I wonder what God thinks when He sees these huge investments in things with no eternal value.

Scripture says the words of the Lord are more valuable, more desirable, more precious than the finest gold (Psalm 19:7-11). Reading, studying and memorizing them is the best investment we can make.

Do you know and believe that truth? If so, what kind of investment are you making?

  1. Thank you for reminding me of my quiet time, either quite or vocal but always keep me focused on my Lord. I have not been good with my investment with Jesus, I am going to make a change going forward to study and pray so he knows me and I know him. I appreciate the 1 minute Bible notes, so little but is so BIG advice.
