When the Israelites miraculously crossed the Jordan River, they set up stones to remember God's faithfulness.

Joshua said, "We will use these stones to build a memorial. In the future, your children will ask, ‘What do these stones mean to you?’ Then you can tell them.” Joshua 4:6-7(NLT)

We can also create "stones of remembrance” symbolizing God's faithfulness in our lives by writing down special "God events."

We all have "God stories" about times He brought us through difficulties, taught us special lessons, encouraged or healed us, and those stories are worth recounting.

Remembering God's faithfulness glorifies God, maintains our legacy for the next generation, and encourages us to persevere when we face new difficulties (Psalm 78:1-8Philippians 4:8).

"Bless the Lord, O my soul, And forget not all His benefits"  Psalm 103:2 (NKJV)
I re-publish a 2011 devotion on Tuesdays. This devotion is adapted from the 2011 devotion "Stones of Remembrance" first published in August 2011.  For a "double shot" of devotion espresso, you might enjoy reading the original since it has some ideas for creating "stones of remembrance" in several creative ways.

I'd love to hear your creative ways to remember God's faithfulness -- please leave them as a comment.
