Over the years, I've written poems, newsletters, Bible studies, evangelistic tracts, children's Bible lessons, and seminary papers.
I edited my high school newspaper in 1969 and 37 years later I wrote an overview of the Bible for Hungarians.(1)
I'll never be a C.S. Lewis, but, like Eric Liddell, I can say that when I write (especially short devotions), "I feel God's pleasure."
I didn't realize it when I wrote that fifth grade speech, but it was the first of many things God used to prepare me for my present ministry.
He's even used things I did poorly to teach me valuable lessons (Romans 8:28).
Whether or not you see it clearly at this point in your life, rest assured God has created you for a number of meaningful purposes (Ephesians 2:10).(2)
If you've seen God's hand in your life, preparing you for ministry, why not leave a comment and tell us about it?
(2) God gives us multiple callings. Mine include wife, mother, and grandmother.
