Worse Than Suffering

There's something harder than suffering and it tests our faith more than anything else. This 1-minute devotion explains.

Job shows us that there is one thing that tests our faith more than suffering.

Job lost his children, his wealth, and his health, yet he responded in faith and trust:

“The LORD gave and the LORD has taken away; may the name of the LORD be praised.” Job 1:21

But as his suffering continued, he grew confused and began thinking that God had abandoned him:

Today my complaint is bitter; his hand is heavy in spite of my groaning. If only I knew where to find him; if only I could go to his dwelling!  Job 23:2-3

Job had enough faith to lose everything ... except God.

"If only I could find him" (Job 23:3).

Most of us come to this point at some time in our lives because we can't understand everything that happens. God doesn't promise we will.

It's actually a test of our faith. Will we redefine God to explain our confusion? Will we reject Him? Or will we trust Him even when things are unclear (1 Corinthians 13:12)?

He may not promise to explain all that life throws at us. He didn't fully explain it to Job. But He promises something far better: He promises he'll never leave us (Hebrews 13:5).

So let's quit "leaning on our own understanding" and lean on Him (Proverbs 3:5).

  2. when troubles, sufferings, losts, even coming to an end of everything, faith is easy to say than standing on the truth....but Job remains his stands. He focuses on God and much more to say He choose to see God in his circumstance rather than to dwell in himself and the dire situation that he's into....he choose to trust and surrender all even when there were times he felt God is no where to be found. He seek Him earnestly and longed for His dwelling.Job 23:2-3 ”....if only I knew where to find Him;if only I could go to His dwelling. If only I could find Him.

Job knows that when God is away from Him he couldn't have peace and comfort in the midst of his adversity. Only when He finds His dwelling in God he could have peace and comfort.
