Interesting facts, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI always knew the Bible is the best seller ever, but I would have never thought it is the most shoplifted, too... It's just a weird feelin to put these two concepts together.
ReplyDeletePsalm 118:8 is not the center verse. I thought that was really cool when I first read it years ago, but it's false.
ReplyDeleteOn a side note, I LOVE your blog. Thankyou for sharing, and being a Titus 2 woman. We need more of you.
Thanks, Rachel. I depended on the research of others, not my own. I just googled it and found a bunch of sites claiming Psalm 118:8 was the center verse, but also a few sites that made pretty good cases against the fact. So I'll remove that "fact" since it's probably not accurate. Thanks for bringing that to my attention.
DeleteAnd thanks for the kind words about Bible Love Notes!

Depending on what version you read depends on where the middle verse will be. I'll use the KING JAME VERSION because that's the most commonly used one.
DeleteThere are 31,102 verses in the Bible (KJV). Since the count is an even number, there is no single middle verse of the Bible. Psalm 103:1–2 are the two middle verses of the Bible, with 15,550 verses before them and 15,550 verses after them.
The middle verses of the Bible say this: “Praise the Lord, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, my soul, and forget not all His benefits” (Psalm 103:1–2).
