3 Incredible Words!

3 words from the cross....whispered about in the Old Testament, spoken about in the New Testament...3 wonderful words that changed our lives. This 1-minute devotion explains.

God whispered about the coming Deliverer throughout the pages of the Old Testament (see more), and He spoke out loud through the pages of the Gospels (see more). He was preparing us for these three words which Christ shouted into eternity:

"It is finished."  John 19:30

Three words that changed the world.

Three words that changed every Christ-follower's destiny.

Three words of agony and victory from our Savior as He bore the full weight of our sins.

In the original language this phrase is similar to the accounting term "paid in full." How fitting!

May we never forget that it was our debt that was paid, not Christ's.

On the day we call "Good Friday," we celebrate the most gruesome act of suffering and the most sacred act of love in all of history.

As we face the challenges of each new day, may our thoughts, words and hearts focus on those final words Christ spoke from the cross.

"It is finished."

Our debt has been paid in full! Hallelujah!
