Screaming at God

Some Christians are "Screamers." This 1-minute devotion explains what this means so we can make sure we aren't one of them. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

“No!” the 3-year-old screamed…at full volume…while hitting his parents.

This happened repeatedly during our two hour flight.

I was sitting next to this toddler's father, and he told me they were going to visit the boy's grandparents at the beach. But all this little guy could think about was the fact that he had to sit still for two hours.

At times we Christians can act like this child.

God gives us so many great gifts, but the slightest interruption or hardship can leave us screaming, blaming God, and "squirming in our seats."

If we'd "sit still" when our circumstances seem tedious or difficult, we might find those circumstances are like the little boy's plane ride - preparation for future blessings or maturity.

Let's remember “what great love the Father has lavished on us” (1 John 3:1), wait patiently for His purposes (Galatians 6:9), and trust His ability to use all things for our good (Romans 8:28).

  1. Wow. Needed that today as I'm rearranging and reorganizing, trying to fit our family of eight into our 1700 SF house better. Thank you.
