Satan is a "Goliath," calling out God's people, taunting us, claiming he'll destroy us.
And we need to respond like David.
You see, David did something remarkable. He was aggressive. He struck the first blow (1 Samuel 17:48-49). He didn't wait for Goliath to wound him.
And we shouldn't wait for Satan to attack either.
"Prepare your minds for action, keep sober in spirit, fix your hope completely on the grace to be brought to you at the revelation of Jesus Christ." 1 Peter 1:13
1. Prepare our minds for action.
Let's feed our faith before the battle (Colossians 3:16).
2. Keep Sober. Let's be alert/aware of Satan's tricks and influences (1 Peter 5:8).
3. Fix our hope on Jesus. Let's depend on Christ's strength (Philippians 4:13) and take up our shield of faith (Ephesians 6:16).
4. Strike first!
Like David, we can be aggressive in defeating our giants because we are depending on God's Name and strength, not our own (1 Samuel 17:45-47).

My giant is to grow in Christ; to accept the health limitations He has brought to me and use my time wisely. I can still pray. He brought it to me. He promises He won't give me more than I can handle and that He will see me thru it. I need to stop pouting!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for such timely, spot on messages; they are blessings!
Dear MKP,
DeleteI am praying that these positive, Biblical attitudes you express will take hold of your heart and give you increasing peace and purpose in your life despite your limitations. May God use your gifts and your challenges to bless others and make you more like Him!
Thank you for sharing your request and I hope others will take a moment to pray for you as well.
God bless you,
Gail

My giant is my mother-in-law. I know i should honor her. But its so difficult.
ReplyDeleteMy giant is my job. I have been there almost 4 years and have never been offered a raise, making minimum wage ($7.50 an hour), no vacation, no benefits. I am seeking a better job closer to home; trying to patiently wait on God
ReplyDeleteHi Piper's Mom, I pray that you will find a job that pays more, has more benefits and is close to your home. I can understand why these things would be difficult and pray God will overcome your "giant." God bless you,

Actually, i already did. It's for that reason i found your website. We share the same roof. My husband and i already agreed to this from the beginning since she'll be left alone if we won't. But eversince we had our children, it has really been a challenge.
ReplyDeleteI will continue to pray for you, Marian. I know these type of situations can be very difficult and I will pray that God does a miracle in all of your lives. I know he will bless you and your husband for respecting his mother. I am sorry that it is so difficult. Keep pressing into God, praying and seeking Him when things get tough. God bless you,

Please pray for my family and I as we are under a serious attack, actually more than one, and some days it feels like it's easier to just allow the enemy a win....
DeleteLove wins right?
Truth always outweighs deceit?
What happened to love your neighbor?
I'm so sorry about this attack, and I have prayed for you. Yes, in the end, the Love of God wins. His Truth prevails. But here on earth there are many challenges and sometimes the wrong people seem to win. But God promises justice in eternity. Hang in there, read your Bible, prayer and pour out your heart to God, seek to follow Christ in all that you do, and He will never leave you or forsake you.
DeleteMy giant are my 3 sisters who always attacks me unnecessarily because I am not as rich and wealthy as they are and one of my sisters are trying to rob us of our home , we also seriously attacked especially by a tenant in our yard. A non believer. I pray and ask our lord and savior Jesus for rescuing my family from this bandage of always being attacked
ReplyDeleteI pray with you that you would find protection and peace in the midst of these things happening in your life. May God give you wisdom.
