What if God gave you a plan for your future and not even your family believed it? And what if your circumstances eventually made God's plan seem impossible?
This happened to Joseph.
When he was still a teenager, God gave Joseph two dreams showing that he would one day rule over his brothers. When he shared this with his family, they thought he was crazy (Genesis 37).
To look at Joseph's life twenty years later, it appeared that his family was right—he was a prisoner in an Egyptian jail, falsely convicted of rape, having spent half his life as a slave. Most people would have given up on God. But not Joseph.
When Pharaoh called him from his cell to interpret two dreams, Joseph said two dreams mean “the matter has been firmly decided by God” (Genesis 41:32).
Betrayed, enslaved, and imprisoned, he continued to hold on to the prophecy in his two dreams from twenty years earlier, trusting that “the matter had been firmly decided by God.”
He was one of God's “yes” men in a “no” world.
Our current world continually shouts “No!” at God - His plans, purposes, commands, and design.
Like Joseph, we need to become “Yes!” men and women, fully trusting God.
Proverbs 3:5-6: “Trust in the Lord with all your heart 💙and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.”
Let's hold on tightly to the truths in God's Word, refusing to listen to our confused and godless world!

One of my favorite stories! Thank you for shedding another light in it... Joseph really is a story of hope!
ReplyDeleteJoseph's story is so heartbreaking and inspiring at the same time. I often wonder how many of us could have endured what he did and kept the faith.
