Are You Crazy Enough?

This 1-minute devotion explains why you have to be a little bit "crazy" to follow Jesus. But it's wonderful to follow Jesus. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Jesus

“The world says, 'Get,' and Jesus says, 'Give.' In terms of the world’s sanity, Jesus is crazy as a coot, and anybody who thinks he can follow Him without being a little crazy too is laboring less under the cross than under a delusion.” Frederick Buechner

Sometimes I act pretty sane.

It’s so easy to slip into the ease and comfort of the world’s thinking. But Christianity is taking up a cross, dying to self, returning good for evil, loving our enemies, forgiving offenders, taking the narrow way…

"For the message of the cross is foolishness to those who are perishing, but to us who are being saved it is the power of God." 1 Corinthians 1:18

The teachings of Scripture are contrary to human nature. That's why "the person without the Spirit does not accept the things that come from the Spirit of God but considers them foolishness" (1 Corinthians 2:14).

Today let's ask God to show us where we need to be a bit "crazier"--more biblical and less worldly. May we always remember that the gospel is "the power of God."
