Have You Been Accused When You Did the Right Thing?

This devotion explains why Christians should expect to be accused of wrong doing even when they've actually done good and godly things.

Gail shares this devotion on YouTube HERE.

Has someone accused you of doing wrong, of being hateful or unkind because of your faith?

“Dear friends, I urge you, as foreigners and exiles, to abstain from sinful desires, which wage war against your soul. Live such good lives among the pagans that, though they accuse you of doing wrong, they may see your good deeds and glorify God on the day he visits us.” 1 Peter 2:11-12

⮞ Who do unbelievers accuse of doing wrong?
Those who live godly lives.

⮞ And what does it mean to live a godly life?
It means doing good deeds in accordance with our faith, sharing the gospel, and living as children of light:

“For you were once darkness, but now you are light in the Lord. Live as children of light (for the fruit of the light consists in all goodness, righteousness and truth) and find out what pleases the Lord. Have nothing to do with the fruitless deeds of darkness, but rather expose them.” Ephesians 5:8-11

Living for Christ offends the unsaved. They'll heap abuse on you” if you refuse to approve their ungodly attitudes and actions (1 Peter 4:1-6).

But don't miss the hope in 1 Peter 2:11-12: Some unbelievers will see our good deeds, recognize their fruitless deeds, and repent. And they will join us in glorifying God when He returns to take us home to heaven.

So let's live as children of light!
