Today I want to proclaim with the psalmist, “How many are your works, LORD! In wisdom you made them all” (Psalm 104:24).
Belief in creation is central to our understanding of God's character.
If a person believes in “theistic evolution,” they believe God chose to create the world via millions of years of death, mutation, and random error.
But Scripture clearly explains that sin caused death, and sin was first committed by a fully formed human being. If we believe death came before sin, we deny a major tenet of the Christian faith (1 Corinthians 15:21-22; Romans 5:12-17).
We expect atheists to embrace evolution because it denies God's character and design, promoting harmful lies about morality, sexuality, and gender.
“You must understand that in the last days scoffers will come, scoffing and following their own evil desires…they deliberately forget that long ago by God’s word the heavens came into being and the earth was formed…” 2 Peter 3:3-6
But Christians should understand that “theistic evolution” is an oxymoron. We serve a Creator who is perfect, wise, loving, and purposeful. He can create with a single word and has no need to use a process of mutation and chaos (Psalm 33:6; Hebrews 11:3; Genesis 1:1-6).
Now more than ever, we need to stand firm in the belief that our Creator designed us and knows what is best for us.

Psalm 104 is a poetic praise of God’s creation. It isn't meant to be taken literally. Figurative language is prevalent in all good literature, and God uses it to convey things in His Word. It's easily recognizable, but atheists often quote such passages to claim the Bible is unscientific. But nothing in Scripture refutes actual science. See 4 Facts About Figurative Language in Scripture.
Origins can’t be proved. Belief in evolution requires faith, and belief in creation requires faith. As Hebrews 11:1 says, "Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." See 4 Reasons Evolution Never Happened and Theistic Evolution.

In my book Wisdom for Life, I have a devotion that addresses evolution.
The 100 one-minute devotions in my book are based on passages from Psalms and Proverbs, and you might be surprised by how relevant these two books are to our modern culture.
