Do You Sometimes Need a "Booster Shot" of Faith?

Sometimes our faith needs a "Booster Shot" and this one-minute devotion explains 3 ways to boost our faith.

Do you sometimes need a “booster shot” of faith?

When we come to the Lord, we all receive the “vaccine” against eternal death, the wonderful redeeming blood of Christ.

No, we don’t need a booster shot for our salvation, but we sometimes need one for our faith, especially when we are faced with increasing ridicule from our culture.

So let me suggest some important ways we can boost our faith:

1. An extra boost of God’s Word

We cannot grow without the life-giving truths of God’s Word. Scripture is “alive and powerful” (Hebrews 4:12). It sanctifies us and thoroughly equips us for life (John 17:17; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).

Consider ways you might improve your time in the Word. For inspiration, read Why the Bible Is Like Dark Chocolate.

2. An extra boost in your prayer life

Read the concise, powerful commands in 1 Thessalonians 5:16-18: “Rejoice always, pray continually, give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

Consider how you might obey these commands more faithfully. I’ve boosted my faith with a Happiness Diary and Practical Prayer Prompts

3. An extra boost of godly fellowship

Scripture tells us to “encourage one another and build each other up” (1 Thessalonians 5:11).

Are you involved in Christian community? It's important for your well-being (see The Benefits of Christian Community). And consider how you might encourage fellow-believers. Think Inside the Box can give you some ideas.
