We Love Him! That's Why We Do the Things We Do!

Why do genuine believers obey God's Word and refuse to conform? This 1-minute devotion explains.

Because we
are in awe of God's mercy toward us and we want to understand His perfect will for our lives, we refuse to conform to culture (Romans 12:1-2).

We want our light to shine and give God glory (Matthew 5:16), and we're eager to do the good works He has prepared for us (Ephesians 2:10).

We seek to live our faith in tangible ways (James 2:14-18), and we don’t get tired of doing good works because we know it will bring in a harvest for His kingdom (Galatians 6:9).

We love Jesus so much that whatever we do, we try to do it heartily as if He is our boss (Colossians 3:23-24).

When we hear of people who call themselves Christians but have no desire to do God’s will and no desire to repent of their sins we're perplexed (Matthew 7:21-23). No one makes us serve the Lord and no one makes us repent. We do these things willingly out of love for God.

Jesus said, “If you love me, you will keep my commandments" (John 14:15). And we love Him!

We may fail at times, but we refuse to live in failure.

It’s not about “works.” It’s about love.
