Ancient, Yes. Relevant, Absolutely!

Let this 1-minute devotion encourage you about the relevance of God's Word to our present situation.

It’s so silly when someone says the Bible is ancient and outdated because God's Word couldn't be more relevant and timeless.

Colossians 2:8 for example: “See to it that no one takes you captive through hollow and deceptive philosophy, which depends on human tradition and the elemental spiritual forces of this world rather than on Christ.”

How relevant this is to our present conditions! Many are being taken captive by human wisdom.

"Watch out for false prophets. They come to you in sheep's clothing, but inwardly they are ferocious wolves.” Matthew 7:15

Again, this is so relevant. Most false teachers are charming, articulate, and appealing. They’re geniuses at incorporating Scripture into their lies.

"For of this you can be sure: No immoral, impure or greedy person—such a person is an idolater—has any inheritance in the kingdom of Christ and of God. Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of such things God’s wrath comes on those who are disobedient."  Ephesians 5:5-6

So true! False teachings are always "empty words" of deception, and one of those deceptions is the claim that the Bible is outdated and irrelevant.

Be careful, dear Christians. Hold tightly to God’s relevant Word.
