20/20 Vision: “Clean” Vision

As an introduction to the 20/20 Series, read Asking God for 20/20 Spiritual Vision

This 1-minute devotion discusses the importance of 20/20 spiritual vision and maintaining it by being careful about what we view. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #Devotions

Scripture tells us to focus on wholesome, godly things, making our thoughts obedient to Christ (Philippians 4:8; 2 Corinthians 10:5).

Part of maintaining that focus is making sure we don’t “look with approval on anything that is vile.” We should “have no part in it” (Psalm 101:3).

Why? Because images and words affect both our thoughts and our actions. Whether viewing them on television, on a computer screen, or in a book, they can damage our spiritual eyesight.

Matthew 6:22-23 talks about maintaining a proper “focus” in our lives because “the eye is the lamp of the body. If your eyes are healthy, your whole body will be full of light. But if your eyes are unhealthy, your whole body will be full of darkness. If then the light within you is darkness, how great is that darkness!”

So “let your eyes look straight ahead; fix your gaze directly before you. Give careful thought to the paths for your feet” (Proverbs 4:25-26).

Let’s diligently seek to have 20/20 vision that is wholesome and “clean.”
