Asking God for 20/20 Spiritual Vision

This devotion about having 20/20 spiritual vision, something we need more than ever to stand firm as Christians.

Dear Lord, please give us:

1. Eyes that see past the worldly to the eternal.

Proverbs 23:5: "Cast but a glance at riches, and they are gone, for they will surely sprout wings and fly off to the sky like an eagle."

2. “Clean” eyes.

Psalm 101:3: "I will not look with approval on anything that is vile. I hate what faithless people do; I will have no part in it."

3. Eyes that see the wonder of Scripture.

Psalm 119:18: "Open my eyes that I may see wonderful things in your law."

4. Eyes that are far-sighted enough to see beyond our present circumstances.

2 Corinthians 4:18: "We fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal."

5. Eyes that are near-sighted enough to see the needs right in front of us.

Philippians 2:4: "Let each of you look not only to his own interests, but also to the interests of others."

6. Renewed eyes.

Ephesians 1:18-19: "I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know the hope to which he has called you, the riches of his glorious inheritance in his holy people, and his incomparably great power for us who believe."

So let's put on our spiritual glasses and focus on some wonderful truths in God's Word!
