God's Remnant People
Christians are imperfect people. All of us.
But throughout history (to include present history) there have always been a remnant of genuine believers set apart from nominal and weak believers. This remnant has persevered, trusting God and His Word. They haven't served Jesus perfectly, but they've served Him well.
Instead of bending with culture, this remnant has:
1. Accepted God's commands, realizing His commands are a blessing and a protection, not a burden (1 John 5:3).
2. Accepted the hard parts of the gospel, refusing to cut and paste Scripture to suit selfish desires.
3. Kept the faith, even though they aren't fully rewarded in this life (Hebrews 11:13-16).
Our churches are full, but they aren't full of remnant Christians.
They're a mixture of:
1. Fakers -- Matthew 13:24-30 and 2 Timothy 3:1-5.
➢ See Standing Firm Despite Compromise in the Church.
2. Worldly Christians -- 1 Corinthians 3:10-15.
➢ See Errors about Worldly Comfort and Security.
3. God's remnant people -- Matthew 7:21-27.
➢ See Paul's Boast.
Which are you? Which do you want to be?
