6 Choices that Kill Family Relationships

Family relationships can be messy at times, but genuine Christians will refuse to make any of these 6 damaging choices. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible #familyproblems

Families are destroyed by these six stubborn choices:

1. Refusal to discuss problems.

Discussing things can be messy work, but it's better than shutting off all hope for reconciliation (Matthew 5:23-24).  See You Can't Serve God if You Refuse.

2. Refusal to admit error.

If we can't say we're sorry or admit we could have done something better, we aren't being honest (James 5:16).

3. Refusal to treat others as we want to be treated.

If we can only see things from our perspective, we'll always have problems (Matthew 7:12). See 5 Things Annoying People Never Do.

4. Refusal to forgive.

If we can't forgive, the problems will grow roots (Colossians 3:13; Hebrews 12:15).
See When Forgiveness Seems too Hard.

5. Refusal to see relationships as give and take.

If we're setting all the rules in the relationship and ignoring the desires of others, we need to memorize Philippians 2:3-4.
See Get Out of Yourself.

6. Refusal to accept that all relationships have problems.

If we exaggerate difficulties, act as if they eclipse all the good aspects of the relationship, or use them as an excuse to give up, we need to remember that all relationships are made up of imperfect people, ourselves included (Ephesians 4:2).

If we make any of these 6 choices in our relationships, we need to grow up in our faith (1 Corinthians 3:1-3).
