Christ-Followers Follow. Do You?

Jesus told us to "Follow Him" and this 1-minute devotion explores 5 purposes of His invitation. #BibleLoveNotes #Biblestudy

Jesus gave a concise definition of faith when He said, “Follow me” (Matthew 4:19).

1. We follow Jesus by giving Him our burdens and yoking ourselves to Him so we stay in step with His purposes (Matthew 11:28-30).

2. We follow Jesus by being willing to suffer for what is right “because Christ suffered for [us], leaving [us] an example, that [we] should follow in his steps”
(1 Peter 2:21).

3. We follow Jesus by becoming “fishers of men” so that others can follow Him too (i.e. sharing Christ; Matthew 4:19).

4. We follow Jesus by placing His purposes above our own because “He gave up his divine privileges” for us (Philippians 2:5-7).

5. We follow Jesus by being productive and obedient because apart from Him we can do nothing” (John 15).

Three men in Luke 9:57-62 said they’d follow Jesus, but they were hesitant and halfhearted. Jesus said, “No one who puts a hand to the plow and looks back is fit for service in the kingdom of God.”(1)

Let's fix our eyes on Jesus and follow Him wholeheartedly (Hebrews 12:1-2)!

  1. We follow Jesus by keeping the Ten Commandments.... including the 4th of the 7th day and not the 1st day of the week. He said if we love Him we will keep His commandments. We follow Jesus in more ways than you have said. When we are showing people things from the Bible like you are, we are to show ALL scriptures pertaining to a topic...we do not pick and choose and then give just those we like. You call your page Bible Love Notes....the only way we can actually show God that we love Him is by following Him in keeping His Commandments and His love.

    1. So, Heartbeat, if anyone writes about what it means to follow Jesus and they don't specifically mention the day of the week to worship, they don't actually love God like you love Him. And, if you find a devotion that doesn't specifically mention those commandments, God wants you to leave a judgmental comment to show how you are far superior to all other Christians and what is the indicator of true faith? Is it your love, compassion, knowledge of God's Word, or grace? No it's because you worship on the 7th Day.
