God measures success differently than we do.
God told Ezekiel to warn Israel of their sins (Ezekiel 3), but he told Ezekiel, up front, that the people wouldn’t listen (Ezekiel 3:7).
The success of Ezekiel’s ministry wasn’t defined by the results. It was defined by Ezekiel’s obedience (Ezekiel 3:16-19).
If Ezekiel failed to share God’s truth, he’d be held responsible for those he failed to warn. Their blood would be on his hands!
But Ezekiel would be counted faithful if he warned the people, even if they refused to listen.
We live in similar times.
Few people are interested in God’s principles, no matter how graciously we share them.(1)
Christians who take a stand are often criticized, ignored, mocked, and rejected.
If you are one of the faithful taking a stand, don’t shrink back! (Hebrews 10:39)
Remember this promise:
“Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me. Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.” Matthew 5:11-12
