How Can We Be Joyful In Times of Trouble?

How Can We Be Joyful In Times of Trouble?

If I chose my circumstances at the beginning of my life, I’m pretty sure I wouldn’t include any hardships.

I doubt Job, Joseph, or David would have chosen their hardships either.

We would plan all “good” things for ourselves.

Of course, only God really knows what is good for us, and every hardship He allows is faith-building (James 1:16-17; Romans 8:28).

He loves us too much to make everything easy for us. He wants children with adult faith, not spoiled babies (1 Peter 2:2; Hebrews 5:13-14).

We should be joyful when we go through trials (James 1:2-4), not because we enjoy the trials but because we know they’re helping us develop perseverance so our faith can become mature.

Are you going through trouble? Keep seeking God’s purposes and depend on His power to get you through.

And remember this:
“God blesses those who patiently endure testing and temptation. Afterward they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him.” James 1:12

Wow!
