Keeping Spiritually Fit

Some of the same principles for staying physically fit apply to staying spiritually fit. This 1-minute devotion offers advice to keep us from having weak and flabby spirits. #BibleLoveNotes #Bible

To maximize our health, we need a healthy diet and regular exercise. These reduce our risk of heart disease, and keep us from growing weak and flabby.

The same is true for our spirits.

To stay spiritually fit, we need a healthy diet with large daily servings of God’s Word:

"Man shall not live on bread alone, but on every word that comes from the mouth of God." Matthew 4:4

We also need regular exercise in applying Biblical principles:

"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." 1 Timothy 4:8

These lower our risk of spiritual heart disease.

“Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as a living sacrifice…be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.” Romans 12:1-2
