Most Christians believe in micro-evolution - adaptations within a species, something we observe in nature.
Theistic evolutionists believe God created using macro-evolution, something never observed in nature.
Macro-evolution theorizes that life came from a series of mutations, mistakes, and death, with man starting as an animal.
But claiming God created via this evolutionary process contradicts Scripture.
The Bible says:
1. God spoke things into existence (Genesis 1; 2 Peter 3:3-7). Theistic evolutionists believe God merely started a random process.
2. God created the world "very good" from the beginning (Genesis 1:31). Mutations (necessary for macro-evolution) are mostly bad.
3. God created man uniquely in His image to rule over creation (Genesis 1:26-28). Macro-evolution says man is a mutation from a lower life form.
4. Adam's sin brought death into the world requiring Christ's redemption (Romans 5:12) . Theistic evolution is based on millions of years of death before Adam, negating* the purpose of Christ's redemption.
Macro-evolution is a theory, and micro-evolution is not a proof for it. Let's believe God's Word!

I agree!
ReplyDeleteI agree, too!
ReplyDeleteI am certain that God, as great as He is, could NOT create a human via evolution. What did He create first, lungs or hearts? Livers or kidneys? Bones or blood? The only way a living human being could be created is instantly, with the entire system in place - just like the Bible teaches us!
ReplyDeleteEvolution is a fact. The creative process is messy and doesn't go in a straight line. As a creative myself,,l see God as the ultimate creative,,giving us humans the ability to understand the whole of creation
ReplyDeleteChristina,
DeleteA fact is something observable and provable. There were no eye-witnesses to creation/evolution unless you believe Scripture and then God was an eye-witness and Adam was present for part of it.
According to Science, anything that we cannot observe is a theory. And since no one was present to record evolution, it’s a theory. Evolutionists have great faith to believe in evolution, something coming from nothing, life coming from non-life, no explainable reason for it to happen.
Christians also have to have faith to believe in Creation and when we trust Christ, we believe Scripture. And creation is a major part of our salvation. We believe Adam brought death into the world. Evolution believes there were millions of years of death before mankind came into being. To believe in evolution, you must not only reject the Genesis account. You must reject the basis of our salvation and Christ's need to be our sacrifice for sin, conquering death.
Whoever taught you that evolution is a fact did not understand the scientific method or science in general. Or they were passing along propaganda to discredit Scripture. If evolution were a fact, there wouldn't be so much disagreement about major aspects of it among secular scientists. Facts are observable.
The evolutionary theory is based on macro evolution, meaning meaning life came from non-life, cells became living creatures, and species changed from one species to another. Since none of this has ever been observed throughout history, that's complete conjecture, not fact.
Evolutionists claim micro evolution proves macro evolution because micro evolution shows very minor adaptations within the same species. Micro evolution is observable and provable. It's a fact.
But it never involves life arising from non-life, changes from one specie to another, nor fish becoming land creatures, etc. If macro evolution were true, these things would still be happening and they aren't. Nor does micro evolution prove they could.
You talk about God, and if you mean the God of the Bible, He would never use millions of years of death, decay, and survival of the strongest to do something He could do with a single command. He doesn't enjoy seeing the stronger kill the weaker, nor does He enjoy death. He sent His son to defeat those things that man created.
In addition, what kind of a god would enjoy watching millions of years of messy death and the destruction of the weak when he could prevent it with a single word? Mankind makes the messes, not God.
You mention God, and perhaps you're correct if you are talking about the Hindu, Islamic, or other pagan gods. They may enjoy unnecessary death and destruction.
But the God of the Bible tells us that death entered the world because of the sin of man, a direct contradiction to evolution.
And to believe otherwise, you need to reject New Testament passages as well as the creation story in Genesis. You need to reject the fall of mankind, and our need for a Savior who gives life where we have brought death.
To believe what you believe, you must reject the gospel. And if you haven't yet heard the gospel, I encourage you to read:

We Can't Shut Up!
And if you got your creative skills from the God of the Bible, I doubt very much that you create things by death and decay. I'm not saying the life isn't messy, Christiana, but God never makes messes. He helps clean them up.
