Ease or Endurance

Romans 15:3-4, Difficulties make us stronger
Many Christians are confused about Christianity. I’m one of them.

Sometimes I start thinking Christian life is about God sparing me from every difficulty.

Then I read verses like Romans 15:3,4:
“For even Christ did not please himself but, as it is written: ‘The insults of those who insult you have fallen on me.’ For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through the endurance taught in the Scriptures and the encouragement they provide we might have hope.”

If everything is good and easy, I’ll be a shallow, spoiled, baby Christian who doesn’t know how to endure hardship.

But God’s purpose is to make me into His image.

People and circumstances insulted the Lord Jesus, and they will also insult me. But that gives me reason to rejoice…for I can learn endurance by grabbing the encouragement and hope from His Word.

Are you under fire today? Grab His Word.
