I'm sorry if any of you are crow lovers ... I don't like crows.
Recently I discovered that crows eat baby songbirds.
Big, shiny black, and squawking, a crow landed in our yard with a dying feathery baby in its beak. Adult songbirds chased and dive-bombed, trying to save the chick.
Sometimes our faith seems like that hopeless, vulnerable baby bird and our culture, under Satan's control, seems like that swooping crow (1 John 5:19).
So many sweet, pure things are mocked. So many shameful, arrogant things are praised. Culture attempts to overpower faith, wound and kill it (1 Peter 5:8).
But we aren't actually like that baby bird.
Satan is no match for our God.(1) God's goodness is far greater than Satan's wickedness. But equally important is the fact that Christ in each of us is greater.
"the Spirit who lives in you is greater than the spirit who lives in the world." 1 John 4:4
So let's "stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong" and keep Satan away from our nest. 1 Corinthians 16:13
