Even if you don't use Facebook, I think you'll benefit from this devotion.
Studies show that being on Facebook makes many people discouraged, disappointed and even depressed.
Why? Because everyone's life seems so much better than theirs and/or no one pays attention to the things they post.
Facebook mimics life. Most people hide their failures and everyone wants more attention than they get.
Three things that can help us in life or on Facebook:
1. Honestly admit that our lives aren't perfect. We have failures and sorrows just like everyone, but we find comfort, correction and guidance in Christ (2 Corinthians 1:3-7; 2 Timothy 3:16-17).
2. Realize that God's the only perfect friend. Others will disappoint us (John 15:15).
3. Find our joy and fulfillment by focusing on God and others, not on ourselves (Matthew 22:36-40).
Facebook can be a source of joy and ministry for Christians if we pray for others, post inspiring images, Scriptures and quotes to encourage others, and present our lives honestly.
